Who we are

Part of the Smooth Flow Group of civil companies, Smooth Flow Traffic Management is a leading provider of regional traffic management services in South Australia. 


Since our establishment in 2019, we have rapidly become a trusted partner for some of the region's largest organisations and civil clients. With a team of nearly 70 highly skilled employees, we have the expertise and experience to handle road management, planning, and control projects of all sizes.



Each team member is trained to the highest industry standards and possesses the knowledge and expertise to handle complex traffic management challenges. We prioritise safety and efficiency in every project we undertake – which is why we have the resources to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety, whether it's for a small-scale construction site or a large-scale infrastructure project.

Meet our team

Steven Walsh – Managing Director

Steven founded Smooth Flow Traffic Management in July 2019, with the goal of providing efficient traffic management and road sign installation services across Adelaide and South Australia. He serves as the company’s Managing Director and has since expanded the Smooth Flow Group to include hydro excavation, service location, and civil contracting, working with some of South Australia’s largest companies. He also owns and operates Send It Marine and Walsh Contracting & Labour Hire.

Jeff Hayes – Supervisor

With previous work experience ranging from being an 18-year manager of a hardware store to making and installing curtains and blinds, and working as a guillotine operator at a printer, Jeff Hayes has an incredibly diverse range of experiences and skills that serve him well in his role at Smooth Flow Traffic Management today. Clients and co-workers describe him as honest and efficient, with great problem-solving abilities.


Jeff wears many hats at the company and loves the variety of tasks in his work. He welcomes the opportunity to tackle something new each day – from organising traffic control on Australian highways to relationship-building with clients in all areas of work, including hydro excavations and civil contracting.


Jeff holds licences and certifications for the following:

  • Roller driver
  • Forklift driver
  • White card
  • Medium rigid truck driver

Nick Wilkinson - Traffic Coordinator

Beginning his career as a butcher, Nick always harboured a deep passion for road construction and traffic control. Now serving as the Traffic Coordinator for Smooth Flow Traffic Management, he brings commitment to optimising traffic flow and ensuring safety. Nick is distinguished for his meticulous attention to detail. His skills in planning and executing effective control measures has played a pivotal role in the success of numerous projects. Beyond his technical expertise, Nick is acknowledged for his proactive approach collaborative spirit and active community engagement.
